The Ensemble Weightlifting Team

All sessions are run by one of these friendly faces. Find out more about them below.

Annie

Annie has been coaching for 20 years and has a wide range of experience, from grass-roots level sport to supporting international-level athletes.

She left a career in public health in 2019 to start Ensemble Weightlifting, with the aim of creating a welcoming space for anyone to come and learn to lift weights

‘My favourite people to teach are those who are complete beginners to weightlifting. Whatever your ability, I will welcome you with a big smile and open arms to Ensemble’

Kieran

Kieran started going to the gym at 18 as a way to get fit to join the RAF and in that process fell in love, deciding to pursue that as a career instead.

His proficiency and knowledge about Olympic lifting is particularly impressive for someone who is still relatively early in his lifting and coaching career. His kindness and enthusiasm is valued by everyone – especially our kids and teens.

‘I love nothing more than turning up the music and lifting some heavy weights!’

Nat

Nat has over 20 years experience in the fitness industry, predominantly as a PT and group fitness instructor. She also works during the day as an exercise specialist within a mental health team.

Nat thrives off having something to train towards, regularly getting involved in our in-house and external fitness competitions. She is excellent at supporting our members towards training for these events too.

‘My favourite thing about Ensemble is the community. I love being able to provide coaching cues that make a big difference, helping members to achieve their goals and get new PBs!’

Martyn

Martyn has been a member of Ensemble Weightlifting since the beginning and despite his busy life, can often be found getting up at silly o clock to attend cardio club.

He works full time in financial services but regularly helps cover sessions, always bringing lots of positive energy (which is much needed at 6am!).

‘I became a coach because I genuinely love seeing other people succeed. Whether you have a question about a workout, need a bit of encouragement, or just fancy a chat, I’m always happy to help.’
